As a travel writer, I feel it’s important to write a story that puts people in my shoes—to feel, smell, touch and taste what I am experiencing as I visit resorts and destinations close to home and around the globe. My intention is to give people enough information about the destination and local experiences to give them a taste, while inspiring them to want to see the destination for themselves.

As an avid reader and writer, I am curious about people and what makes them tick. It’s knowing how to make people feel comfortable enough to share their story, and asking the right questions to go beyond a cookie cutter interview to find out what readers may not know. It’s about finding out what inspires people, exploring their hopes and dreams, and telling their story in an honest and respectful way to inform, engage and inspire readers.

On the flip side of the coin, as a season PR professional with decades of working with high profile celebrities, writing media releases and organizing press tours comes second nature to me.

Everyone has a story to tell. I would be honoured to tell your story.

When the Association of Professional Fundraising Professionals – Central Ontario Chapter (AFPCON) was looking for a writer for our 2022 Edition of the “Gifts That Last” Magazine we were provided a recommendation to Laurie.  She produced six inspiring donor stories from a variety of charities within our catchment area.  Laurie was a pleasure to work with and she adhered to our tight time lines. Her writing was clear and beautifully conveyed the important impact of each featured charity.
